Privacy
The short version: what you type stays on your PC. Tybbo has no account, and its AI runs on your computer. This page explains exactly what is stored, where, and the little that is sent.

The short version
- Tybbo checks your typing on your PC. Your text is never sent to us or anyone else.
- There’s no account, so we don’t have your name, email address or payment details.
- The app connects to the internet only to check tybbo.com for updates and download them.
- Rooms connects PCs on your own network directly, encrypted. There’s no Tybbo server in the middle.
- This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies. It counts visits anonymously.
- We don’t sell data, and we don’t show adverts.
Typing: what happens on your PC
To fix typos in every app, Tybbo has to see the keys you press. It keeps the text you’re writing in memory while you write, and checks each word as you finish it, using an AI model that runs on your computer. It doesn’t save your sentences and doesn’t send them anywhere.
In password fields, and in apps Tybbo skips (by default: code editors, terminals, password managers and remote desktops), it ignores what you type.
What Tybbo saves on your PC
Tybbo keeps a few files in your own Windows user folder, at %APPDATA%\Tybbo. None of them is sent anywhere.
| What | What’s in it | Your control |
|---|---|---|
| Settings | Your choices, such as strength and the apps to skip | Change them in Tybbo’s Settings |
| Your words | Names and words you add | Add or remove them in Tybbo |
| What it has learned | Single words you use often, and typos you’ve fixed by hand. A word you’ve typed only once or twice is stored as a scrambled code (a salted hash) until Tybbo learns it. | Turn learning off, remove words, or forget everything |
| Typo log (on unless you turn it off) | Single words, never sentences: what you typed, what Tybbo changed it to or suggested, what you kept, when, and in which app (its file name, for example notepad.exe) | Turn it off or clear it in Tybbo |
| Working files | Small files the Tybbo window and the background app use to talk to each other, such as whether Tybbo is on and how many fixes it made today | Removed with the folder |
| Error log | Technical details if something goes wrong, such as a failed update check | Delete the file at any time |
When you uninstall Tybbo, this folder stays in case you reinstall. Delete it to remove everything.
What the app sends over the internet
Every few hours, Tybbo asks tybbo.com whether a new version is available. The request includes the version of Tybbo you have, so our server can tell whether there’s a newer one, and, like any web request, it shows our server your IP address. It contains nothing you’ve typed, learned or shared in Rooms. If there’s an update, Tybbo downloads it and checks our digital signature before installing it. Updates without a valid signature are refused.
That’s all. Tybbo doesn’t send your typing, usage statistics or crash reports.
Rooms: chat, calls and files on your network
Rooms is optional. When you use it:
- Copies of Tybbo on the same network find each other with small encrypted announcements. Other devices can see that a Tybbo PC is there, but without your join code they can’t read who you are or what you say.
- Messages, calls and files travel directly between PCs on your network, encrypted. There’s no Tybbo server, so we never see or store any of it.
- Only people with your workspace’s join code can join and read what’s shared there. Each message is signed by its author, so nobody can pretend to be someone else. Share the code only with people you want in.
- Everyone in the workspace can see your display name, your status and what you post in rooms. Direct messages and 1:1 calls stay between the two of you.
- So that people can catch up, members’ PCs keep each room’s history and pass it to anyone who was away. It’s stored on each member’s PC, in %APPDATA%\Tybbo\Rooms, with your display name, your workspaces and a key that identifies your PC.
- Files you receive are checked against the sender’s fingerprint, saved to your Downloads folder and marked as coming from the internet, so Windows checks them like any download. Tybbo never opens them for you, and programs are never downloaded automatically.
- To remove someone from a workspace, start a new one and share its new code with everyone else.
This website
tybbo.com sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser that identifies you. It uses no third-party analytics, adverts or trackers, and loads no fonts, scripts or images from other companies.
To understand what’s working, the site counts a few events, such as a page being viewed, the download button being clicked or the typing demo being used. Each count records only the event, the page, the time and which version of the page you saw. It doesn’t include your IP address or anything else that could identify you or your device. What you type in the typing demo stays in your browser.
Who handles data for us
Our website, downloads and update checks are hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes IP addresses to deliver pages and files and to protect the site from attacks. You can read Cloudflare’s privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
No adverts, no selling
We don’t sell or share data, build profiles or show adverts. Tybbo is built so that your writing never reaches us in the first place.
Your rights and choices
Because Tybbo keeps your data on your PC, you’re in control of it: pause Tybbo from its icon near the clock, switch it off for one app, change, clear or delete what it has learned in the Tybbo window, leave a Rooms workspace, or delete the %APPDATA%\Tybbo folder. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this page
If what Tybbo stores or sends changes, we’ll update this page before the change reaches the app, and change the date at the top.
Who we are
